📡 FIND FREE COMPUTER SCIENCE BOOKS. THE BIGGEST WIND FARMS IN THE WORLD AND HOW TO HANDLE SVGS PROPERLY
Heya,
It is great to be back after a week off. It's also great to see that YouTube is reeling in the big bucks which makes me feel great about skipping ads every time. I was also excited to see Britain continue to get swept up by wind farms at scale.
In misc links, you can confirm that sweating is never a good look (even for a robot), hear Elon Musk's new song, see the winners from a frozen hair competition, and more.
Enjoy,
Chris.
📰 From the Newsroom
The British wind market keeps breaking its own record. 🎐
What's happening? Two big wind constructions will make Britain the biggest wind market in the world with Dogger Bank's three projects already under construction. The three wind farms will generate 1,200MW each.
Is wind the answer? The answer is still blowing about but a green hydrogen plant will be powered by offshore wind in Belgium. This is just one example of what wind power could accomplish; some studies suggest that wind power has the potential to generate more than "18 times" the amount of global energy demand.
Why is this so exciting? Over the last year, scientists noticed that climate models were starting to predict more dire outcomes than ever before. While they haven't reached a consensus over the implications, the costs of keeping data alone are cause for concern. The growth and success of renewable projects will help the movement away from coal.

Does dopamine fasting work? 🙅♀️
This is a new thing? Nope. It goes back as far as the 10th century but has become popular under its a new name: dopamine fasting.
What is it? Over the last six months, dopamine fasting has become an international trend. The theory behind it is that avoiding stimulation will help improve brain effectiveness and the appreciation of the "simple things".
How does it work? Adherents will avoid a wide range of activities from internet browsing through sex to the extreme of avoiding conversation and interaction.
But, does it work? It's pretty hard to control dopamine but a fast can help you get perspective on your bad habits and establish new boundaries.

YouTube reveals $15.1 billion in revenue. 📹
Why is it a big deal? This is the first time that Alphabet has revealed the details of its main revenue streams. Also, YouTube'd ad revenue has doubled over the past two years.
Where did the money come from? YouTube TV streaming has more than 20 million paid subscribers. Music and YouTube Premium have more than 20 million subscribers. And ads obviously.
Main takeaway While annoying ads and pop-ups still work, the content moderation problems and the rise of Google Cloud suggests the crown jewel is still up in the air.
