💰 HOW TO BETTER TRACK YOUR CAREER ACCOMPLISHMENTS. PLUS, 'FRIENDS' BY LEGO AND A HUMAN-MADE UFO.

Heya,

It's been a funny week, not only did Australia beat NZ in the rugby but a bio-hacker implanted a Tesla chip in her arm. While both of these stories sound made-up the rugby, at least, will return to normal service over the weekend.

Finding a way through all the biases and disinformation would be much easier if IKEA handled all the documentation. Until they pivot into the media, you can use an extension I found which will highlight the bias of every news article you read.

I've also got a great tool for SVG animation, how to build a Career Management Document, a human-made UFO, and robots in space.

Enjoy,

Chris.

The CO₂ emissions for flying around the world. 🛫

Sorry, I know it seems like kinda rough but I was curious about the cost of my Christmas trip to see family (notice I sneak the family bit in there to assuage my guilt).

I am trying to limit my impact, so I did appreciate seeing how sustainable choices stack up. Fortunately, I haven't had a car in four years, driving in Europe freaks me out, so I am giving myself a partial pass for the trip.

In really good news, check out the U.K. coal phase out.

Nobias is a pretty nice extension that can let you know the biases in your preffered media outlets. Apparently, I am quite centrist in my reading.

⚒️ Tools and Resources

A very nice transition hover effect made with Three.JS.

Inspired by some of the images on Coulee Creative's website. I also like the way it follows my mouse with a classic "eyes that follow you around a room" feel.

Instant inline SVG animation with CSS. 📈

A very handy tool for quick animation. It has a few options for animation and timing functions to help you get the perfect animation with, like, 10% of the work.

RSSMailer will help you keep track of your favorite webs. 📧

This looks to be a handy tool if you're following blogs, websites, etcs. I don't have a great RSS reader running at the moment, so getting updates via email is a pretty handy solution.

How to build a Career Management Document (CMD) to keep track of your accomplishments. 📜

Building a resume takes too long. This is largely because trying to remember everything you did is practically impossible. If you track them weekly, then you will be able to capture everything before it flies off into the ether. Maybe you're not looking for a job right now, but, for sure, you will be looking for a raise. A CMD could help you with that. Great read.

Goodbye iframes, hello performance. 👓

This is an interesting article on the BBC's decision to dump the iframe to reap performance, SEO, and interactivity benefits. It's also a great way to improve your website sustainability.

Russia releases video of robonaut 'Fedor The Kid' before its planned trip to the space station.

You might remember Fedor as the gun totin', push-upin', robot from this video. It can also repair space ships, take a punch, and build settlements. The Moon is going to be one hell of a wild west.

I love any invention that is immediately defended as "not the work of mad science" before anyone levels an accusation.
