🏌️‍♀️ OBVIOUSLY YOU'RE NOT A GOLFER.

Heya,

There are few things greater than Escher, but a website where you make your own? Damn close.
Some cool font stuff came my way this week. And, Dungeons and Dragons.
I also found some cool tricks for stopping those bad mornings morphing into terrible days (without all the alcohol). Finally, the courageous startups brawling with dentists.

🕸️ The Cool Side of the Web

The metamorphosis of Escher. 🎨

Very Cool
A site where you can make your own Escher metamorphosis images and add them to the endless metamorphosis.

FamePick makes it easy to get celebrity endorsements for your brand. 💸

They Have Shaq
The article includes profiles and is, appropriately, snarky at times. I'm dying to know how much it would cost to get a Shaq endorsement.

How people around the world laugh online.

LoL isn't Cool Anymore
Personally, I've long suspected that lols were more polite than genuine. My evidence? I received a lol in Slack from a colleague who was not loling. I could see you
A real world lol is usually texted as a bunch of emojis, or hahas (usually with an enthusiastic typo).

LA's awesome history of weird, food-shaped restaurants.

T'was a Grand Era Boyo
It's not just restaurants and not just LA. In Australia, we have a similar trend with the Big Pineapple, Big Banana, Big Prawn...and I think quite a few more.

⚒️ Tools and Resources

Gilbert Spiral 4:3 will help you make your fonts pop.

Funky
Animated, scrolling SVG color font that's cool, but without being too cocky about it. You know, like some fonts can be.

codepen.io

Calligraphr helps you make fonts from your handwriting.

Good Guys
It has some pretty impressive features like character randomization for a more realistic look. Also, they have one of the fairest payment methods I've seen for a tool.

A CLI client for Slack.

Alpha
It is early days for this project, but if you want a better CLI 'n Slack experience then you can help make it happen.

Random Dungeon Generator for D&D. 🐉

Clearly not a good fit for tools, but...it made me nostalgic.

Pretty cute Space Loader with rockets and stars.

Houston, We Have Awesome
I just really like it.

🕷️ Design & Development Arena

A fresh batch of cool tech comics.

That'd be Great
❤️ a reference to Office Space. The digital nomads one made me ROFL.

Tasty
A brilliant tool for quickly explaining the expectations around component authoring.

How to salvage some productivity after a crappy morning. 🙏

The Secret Sauce
I could use this every day, on average. A quick read with some out of the box tips for rebooting your day.

50 animations created in just 100 days.

Quit Your Day Job
A great article if you are anxious about possibilities and time-frames. I think the time break-downs and processes are definitely generalizable.
Anyway, the animations are really cool.

🙃 Backwards talking dreams - Fun stuff

GoCube is an update to the Rubik's cube with multi-player options.

Polyhedra Viewer is a good way to lose a few hours.

Smart Time Waster
I am definitely not smart enough to explain what's happening with this one. You can play with polyhedra and change them into different polyhedra through various operations.

The Dude Abides.

I feel like the title should be enough to sell this one to you.

🔖 Nice work if you can get it

Startups and traditional orthodontists are fighting to fix your teeth. 😬

Nasty
There's some genuinely nasty white-collar brawling happening here, which is quite surprising. I mean who would have thought dentists would be malicious? 🥁

Outro

Messing with dentists' careers seems like it should be an extreme sport.

We'd be happy to see you roll your way into Twitter.

If you got a forward then you can join our team here.

That's enough ramblin' from me,

Chris
