So WhiteHouse.gov moved to WordPress. Funny that WordPress aren't making much hubbub
WhiteHouse.gov migrated from Drupal to WordPress. I might have missed something, but I couldn't find much news on this one. Not many news outlets mentioned it, WordPress seemed to pretty quiet.
Reddit has the best comments so they get the linkage.

Feeling nostalgic or lazy? This game is full of retro charm
Surf the web with this 80s kid. Make him sway left or right to collect classic internet icons. The bygone icons include Netscape Navigator, Clippy, MTV. Avoid the PacMan ghosts, Mario mushrooms.
More retro than Stranger Things.

Possibly the best data visualisation of what happens in an internet second
This looks really, really nice. See how many tweets are sent each second. Contains a cool visualization for the dominant internet apps (Insta, Tumblr, traffic in GB). It also has a nice little counter on the right telling you what's happened since you opened the page.
Bonus points if you can get to the end of the email section.

Who would have thought Dr. Seuss would be so litigious?
This has all the potential for cool. Dr Seuss combines with Star Trek to make a whole new mashup comic for the ages. Oh! The places you'll boldly go! raised tens of thousands of dollars on Kickstarter before being removed.
Will we ever get to see what should be an amazing, amazing comic?

Pulling yourself up by the bootstraps is less valuable than having help from a team – Bogdan Preda – Medium
Pull yourself up by the bootstraps is a well-worn phrase, though I haven't heard it in some years. The individualist streak in western countries often praises the individual at the expense of the community.
But more and more we hear about the value of a community, and how teamwork cuts through a tremendous amount of stress. This article is a case study in working with others and its inherent value.

Botnik Studios created a Harry Potter chapter using predictive text
Speaking of Botnik is an association of artists, writers, developers and machines working together to create "strange new things".
This time they have used a predictive keyboard focused on all seven Harry Potter books. The result? An all new spellbinding (their joke) chapter for Harry Potter.

We know at least one of these 7 humans who'll always be clinging to Facebook
Facebook will be making big changes over the next year. It has been some time since Facebook was the coolest thing, like ever. It is shedding the 12-17s and those millennials are all over other platforms.
So, who is left on Facebook? This is a pretty funny view of the people who will never give up on the grand dame of social.
