Do you find yourself longing for the internet of blogs and BBS?
Dan does. He laments the buttoned-down life of the contemporary internet.
But there's still great stuff to be found out there. I found some pretty cool websites and managed to read all about the sexualization of robots. We can put a human on the moon, but robots still can make a decent cup of joe.
I stole some tools from the brains trust. And I found time to gauge how close we are to "The Beast: A Frankenstein Reality Show".
Not that far at all.
📰 From the Newsroom
Scientists transferred memories from one snail to another.
Scientist: What did you do last Wednesday evening?
Snail:
Scientist: Success!
Meanwhile, in a different lab gamers are helping build a digital museum of the human brain. They also discovered 6 new neurons which means they unlocked the liver.
Score!

So, I guess we don't need the snails at all anymore.

Two surgeons in China developing a method to transplant a human head. 💆♂️
There are two great reasons for reading this article:
1.The image of the Italian surgeon is awesome. I think picking the unflattering images is one of the best jobs at a media publication.
2.The details around this nugget: ...keeping a detached human head alive is not the main stumbling block...

🕸️ The Cool Side of the Web
I don’t know how to waste time on the internet anymore. ⌛
Agreed, there's definitely been a huge shift. There's still tons of cool stuff out there; I feel that the only genuine way to combat this boredom is to switch from consumer of cool to producer of cool. See the Star Trek-Full House mashup below.

Versioning is one of the best newsletters ever.
Often imitated 😉 but never equaled. This is absolutely essential for developers of any stack, and designers of any platform. It's also made in Australia, by a Kiwi, which is a better combination than pizza and sauce.
Also, it introduced me this beautiful mashup of Star Trek and Full House.
It is only the first of many. Someone tell Dan, the internet is back baby!

What happens when a journalist goes on a date with a sex robot?
Includes some pretty cool film-noir type images of robots. Buuut the sex robots are still stuck in that creepy phase...at least that's what I've heard.
I did notice that the sex robots seem to be way more advanced than robots designed to help keep our clothes on. Which shows you that technology changes everything, but never our priorities.

Well, that went by fast. Next week I will be on vacation, so there will be a brief respite from killer, sexy, helpful robots.
If I could see one game character in a different game, then Mario in Doom seems like a good fit.
